Progression of a bad monogram to a good one!
This post shows the progression of a bad monogram to a good one.
This is the font used and it was stitched on a thick terry white towel using off-white and champagne thread colors:
As you can see the design is very intricate and below is how it stitched.
Because a wash away water soluble stabilizer is necessary when stitching on terry and it was impossible to "pick" out the stabilizer between the dotted lines, I washed the towels to remove it. Once washed the dotted lines got lost in the terry and the outline stitch wasn't wide enough to keep its shape as shown in the picture below:
Luckily it was salvageable with a knockdown stitch in white thread stitched over the monogram and the monogram re-stitched on top of the knockdown stitches and voila a beautiful monogram was created with a big sigh of relief👏.
This photo shows the front side of the towel with the re-stitched monogram with knock-down stitching:
This photo shows the reverse side of the towel with the re-stitched monogram with knock-down stitching:
And just like that my panic turned to happiness 😊. 2 hand towels and 2 bath towels and the best part is there is no picking out the topping or backing and the back looks almost as good as the front!
